In most circumstances, our Care Director will schedule a new patient exam and hygiene booking for your first visit. This allows our dentist to get a thorough snapshot of your oral health and you to leave with a fresh, clean smile. Following your first booking, we will help you stay on top of your reCare bookings and develop a treatment plan to ensure any issues needing further treatment are taken care of. Absolutely. As a courtesy to our patients, Care Dental works directly with most insurance companies and we do our best to make sure that our patients never pay a dime over the patient portion of their booking. Our Care team will review estimates beforehand to ensure that there are no billing surprises. This allows you to maximize your treatment options and schedule bookings at a pace you are comfortable with.
To use our direct billing option, Care Dental requires a credit card to be kept on file to cover any residual balances or overages.
Care Dental accepts: Cash, Debit, MasterCard, Visa & financing through Pay Bright.

Yes! At Care Dental, your dental health is our highest priority. The challenge with dental-related diagnosis is that if they are left untreated, there is a reasonable chance the issue(s) will continue to get worse and more expensive. We don’t want our patients in any pain but, life happens, and sometimes finances can be a deterrent in getting the proper care. That’s why we have partnered with a third party health financing organization called PayBright. For more information and to start the application process, please call us at 778-484-2256 and ask to speak with a Patient Services Coordinator.
Care Dental considers your booking important and has reserved the time for your booking exclusively for you. We feel that our patient’s time is valuable. Except for emergency treatment for another patient, you can expect us to be prompt. We, of course, do appreciate the same courtesy. We are looking forward to seeing your smiling face!
Rebooking with adequate notice is never a problem. However, in order to best serve our patients, we require 2 business days notice to reschedule or cancel an existing dental booking. 3 business days are required to reschedule or cancel bookings 2 hours or longer. In lieu of notice, a $105 fee may be applied to your visit.
To cancel or reschedule a booking, you must phone the practice during practice hours. Cancellation or rebooking requests by text message or voice message will not be accepted.
Fees of this nature are 100% donated to CareKids, a Care Dental community initiative which provides dental care to local children in need.

Great question! The short answer is NO. At Care Dental we do offer an elevated standard of care but this does NOT mean that we charge more. In fact, in British Columbia dental fees are set by the British Columbia Dental Association. At Care Dental we strive to think through every aspect of the patient experience to ensure we are the dentist you will look forward to visiting. This means expert dentists, cutting edge, high-tech equipment and extraordinary hospitality but it does not mean higher fees. At Care Dental you get more, but don’t pay more.
We understand and you are not alone! In general, going to the dentist isn’t something typically considered “fun” by the general population. If you’ve had a negative experience in childhood or at a different practice, that can make things seem even scarier. At Care Dental, we are working hard to change perceptions! We have done our best to walk in your shoes and consider everything that will make you comfortable. From the minute you walk in the door you will be greeted with a friendly smile, a warm cup of tea and a calming atmosphere. During treatment, you will be offered a cozy blanket and Netflix to keep you comfortable and entertained. Our team focuses on open communication so there will never be any surprises during your visit. We do offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and sedation options for those patients needing that next level of support.
Care Dental is a family dental practice and the littlest teeth are our favourites! Children are always warmly welcomed whether it is their first dental visit or if there is something that needs special attention – we are on it! From the moment they walk in the door, we aim to give them the best experience possible. Fun slippers? Check! iPad with educational games? Check! Once in the chair, our team will take great Care while they watch their favourite cartoons on Netflix. Our dental chairs are designed with parents in mind with a designated sitting area within eye and ear shot very nearby. Don’t forget to visit the treasure box at the end of every visit!
Before the age of one or when their first tooth erupts, becoming visible. At this point we can begin to assess the future of their teeth and how to maintain them at home. Don’t forget to ask about our no-charge ‘Happy Visit’ for children 3 years old and under.
Care Dental absolutely accepts patients who are covered by the Ministry. We value all our patients and hope that you will choose us to be your care provider. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer direct billing to the Ministry. That means that patients with Ministry coverage are responsible to pay for all dental services in full at the time of treatment. Care Dental will provide claim forms that include the treatment codes so that patients can easily and seamlessly submit claims on their own behalf.
This varies and will be assessed at your first appointment. In general, six month intervals are the average for dental hygiene appointments, though other factors may change the recommended appointment dates.
Brush softly while holding the brush at a 45-degree angle. Move across the front and back of your teeth, paying attention to your gum line as you go. Brush at least twice a day, but it never hurts to brush after each meal of the day!
Regular checkups, cleanings (brushing, flossing), and mouthwash all contribute to a healthy smile. Cavities develop as acids wear away at the outer enamel layer of your natural tooth. By properly cleaning and protecting your teeth, the possibility for a cavity to develop is massively reduced.
Flossome: A blending of the words ‘floss’ and ‘awesome’ because flossing is pure awesome. Best followed by an exclamation point to accentuate said awesomeness. Rhymes with possum.
Examples of use:
“Have a flossome day!” Translation: Have a day so great that it is on par with healthy, happy teeth that are flossed regularly.
“You are flossome!” Translation: You are the same level of super awesome as happy, healthy teeth that are flossed regularly.
