At Care Dental, we’ve built your dental practice on three pillars – Care for Team, Care for Patients and Care for Community. In partnership with the Central Okanagan Family Hub, the CareKids program brings to life our Care for Community pillar in the most rewarding of ways. Working closely with The Hub, every month Care Dental provides no cost dental examination and treatment for a little mouth in need, age 16 or younger. If you or someone you know would like to apply to be one of our ‘CareKids’, please contact Christine Hawkins, Family Services Manager at christine @ kcr.ca for an application. That’s just one of the ways we are showing that when it comes to Care – we walk the talk – and love doing it.
In 2013, twenty-three members representing community agencies, child, and family development, education and healthcare, struck a steering committee on a quest to open a “one-stop shop” family support centre in the Central Okanagan. The collaborative integrated community service delivery model connects families to community services that promote healthy development that fosters resiliency and life-long learning.
This dream became a reality when the United Way of the Central and South Okanagan/Similkameen and the BC Provincial Office of The Early Years provided the core funding for this project. Through a partnership with Central Okanagan Public School, space was provided at Pearson Elementry to host the Hub services. The Hub officially opened their doors with a unique ribbon-joining ceremony, rather than a ribbon-cutting, at their grand opening on September 23, 2016.
